The Principal of the academy is Alec Gordon, who brings a wealth of experience to the role. With a background in both performing and teaching, Alec is dedicated to ensuring that every student at the academy receives the best training possible. He has trained with an MA in Performing Arts and BA in Drama & Theatre Arts, and his own professional experiences in the industry have given him valuable insights that he shares with his students.
At the Pauline Quirke Academy Sunderland, the focus is not only on developing performance skills but also on fostering emotional well-being and personal growth. Through participation in performing arts, students have the opportunity to develop their individuality, self-confidence, self-esteem, resilience, mindset, and ambition. The academy offers classes on Saturdays, with a special Poppets class for younger children. The fees for the primary students are 92. 00 per calendar month, while sibling students receive a discounted rate of 69. 00 per calendar month.
Poppets students can enrol for 46. 00 per calendar month.
The academy has a dedicated team of instructors who are passionate about nurturing the talents of each student. Addison, who studied Film Practises at Newcastle University, is a producer for a local production company and teaches Film & Television. Janine, a professional actor from the North-East, specialises in Comedy & Drama. Millie, an Academy Assistant, is currently studying Primary Education at the University of Sunderland.
Alec Gordon, the Principal, is also involved in teaching and brings his expertise in acting to the academy. Finally, Georgia, the Vice Principal, focuses on the Poppets class and has a passion for dance.
