Known to the locals simply as the Tutukaka Club, it’s a hub for game fishers across New Zealand. Derek's Club isn’t just for the die-hard anglers; it’s open to anyone visiting Tutukaka. From holidaymakers and school trips to touring boats, everyone’s welcome. With a community of over 1200 members from various backgrounds – fishing, diving, yachting, and the local neighbourhood – Derek’s Club presents a friendly atmosphere, right next to some of the best fishing waters around.

Head into the Club rooms and you’ll find the Anglers Bistro, laid-back bars, a lounge, and a spacious outdoor deck perfect for soaking in views of the marina. Guests and members alike are invited to enjoy these top-notch facilities. Membership comes with perks, including access to a network of fishing clubs worldwide.

Derek keeps the excitement high with regular updates on the Club’s website, spotlighting fish catches, tournaments, and upcoming events. One of the highlights to look forward to is the Working Bee on November 11th.

Operating hours are designed for relaxation after a day out on the water. The Bistro opens from 5 pm on weekdays and from noon on weekends, staying open until late. The Bar follows suit, opening an hour earlier on weekdays. Need to reach the Club office? It's open weekdays from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm and Derek’s team is always available by phone or email.

Membership at Derek’s Whangarei Deep Sea Anglers Club varies to suit everyone. For 2023-2024, seniors (22+) pay $100, and juniors (16 and under) pay $25. Family and social memberships are available too. You can join by filling out a form on the Club’s website or contacting directly.
