Whether you're a seasoned racer, a newcomer to sailing, or simply someone who enjoys being out on the water, Whitefriars aims to make sailing fun and accessible for everyone.
Situated on the picturesque Cotswold Water Park, Whitefriars is a club that is run by its members, for its members. The club believes in striking a healthy balance between competition and fun, providing equal opportunities for all members to learn, improve, and participate as much or as little as they desire.
Whitefriars offers a diverse range of on-water and off-water activities to cater to everyone's interests. These activities include racing, cruising, an extensive RYA training programme, and a wide array of social activities suitable for the entire family.
The club takes pride in being one of the top clubs in the UK for its Sailability capabilities. This is made possible through the dedicated and friendly team of enthusiastic volunteers who support the club's varied programme throughout the year.
For those interested in knowing what's going on at Whitefriars Sailing Club, the club regularly organises racing events, cruising trips, training sessions, and activities specifically designed for juniors and women. Members can stay updated by following the club's Facebook page and browsing through the latest club photos.
To join Whitefriars Sailing Club, new members are welcomed throughout the year. The membership calendar starts in April, but the cost can be reduced if joining later in the year. Membership options and costs can be found on the club's website, and interested individuals can sign up through the Members Portal.
Once the membership request is received, the Membership Team at Whitefriars will be in touch to arrange a visit to the club. During this visit, new members will be given a guided tour of the lake, boat park, and Clubhouse. Finalising membership and payment can be done through the Members Portal, with the entire process typically completed within a week.
Whitefriars also offers boat hire for members who don't yet own a dinghy, as well as RYA training courses for those looking to improve their sailing skills. The club also has specific groups for juniors, racers, individuals with disabilities (Sailability), women, and those interested in radio-controlled boats.
The Membership Team at Whitefriars Sailing Club looks forward to receiving applications and welcoming new members to enjoy their time on and around the beautiful lake. Membership options include Full Single Adult Membership, which grants full access to all facilities, and Full Family Membership, which allows up to two adults and one or more children/grandchildren under 18 to enjoy the club's offerings.
