Welcome to Williams Karate Academy, a renowned martial arts school located in Northwich, Cheshire. Established in 1995 by Sensei Barry Williams, a 7th Dan black belt and member of the National Dan grading panel, the academy offers high-quality karate training to individuals of all ages and abilities.

Sensei Barry Williams has had an impressive karate career, earning numerous accolades and titles over the years. Some of his achievements include being the winner in the Men's Open Weight Category at the 2009 Shukokai World Cup in Germany, holding 3 European Championship titles, 5 English Championship titles, 1 British Championship title, 2 Jersey Open Championship titles, and finishing 6th in the World Championships.

Williams Karate Academy is a proud member of the Shitoryu Shukokai Karate Association (SSKA), which is associated with the English Karate Federation (EKF) and part of the World Karate Federation (WKF). These affiliations ensure that our students receive the highest quality training available in Cheshire.

ClassesWilliams Karate Academy welcomes individuals aged 4 and above, regardless of their level of experience. We encourage prospective students to attend a complimentary class to get a feel for our training style and determine if karate is right for them. No special equipment is needed for the first class, but once committed to training, students can purchase a Gi (karate uniform) with a white belt from our online shop. As students progress, they will be graded and awarded different coloured belts to signify their level of expertise, with black belt being the highest achievement.

These sessions are ideal for those preparing for competitions or individuals who prefer tailored coaching to fit their specific needs and schedule.
