

Yogi Andi, also known as Andy Virabhava, is an experienced yoga instructor and meditation teacher based in Birmingham, New Zealand. Yoga has been a central part of Yogi Andi's life since 1996, and after years of dedicated practise, he completed his teacher training in 2010. He has since been sharing his extensive knowledge and passion for yoga with his students.
Yogi Andi has undergone 1000 hours of training with renowned teachers across the UK, USA, and India, making him a recognised Yoga Elder by the International Yoga Network. This distinction honours his commitment to the path of yoga and his exceptional skill in teaching and guiding others.
In addition to yoga, Yogi Andi has spent 28 years immersing himself in the study of Eastern philosophy. He took a 3-year sabbatical to study non-dual Shaiva Tantra full time, before returning to academia. Currently, he is a scholar in consciousness studies and transpersonal psychology, completing a Masters of Science degree. He continues to integrate his knowledge of yoga, philosophy, and psychology in his teachings and writings.
Yogi Andi's goal is to make the teachings of yoga accessible to today's spiritual seekers, yoga practitioners, and other teachers. He deepens his understanding of yoga by continually studying the Sanskrit language, Indian history, and culture. This contextual understanding allows him to share yogic wisdom in a way that resonates with modern practitioners.
Drawing inspiration and gratitude from his gurus, teachers, and mentors, Yogi Andi acknowledges the influence of individuals such as Jack Kornfield, Conrad Paul, Steven Russel, Guru Vishnu, Hareesh, Rupert Spira, and many others who have shaped his journey.
Aside from his extensive yoga training, Yogi Andi also holds various certifications and qualifications in related fields. He is a certified somatic modality practitioner, shamanic healing practitioner, and psycho-spiritual coach. Yogi Andi is also experienced in meditation, mindfulness, and Ayurveda. He has a CYQ Level 2 certification in Health Related Exercise for Children and a BTEC Level 3 Advanced Award in Self Defence Instruction.
Furthermore, he has over 15 years of experience teaching martial arts and has trained in various disciplines such as kickboxing, MMA, Escrima, Silat, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Kalaripayattu, and Capoeira.
Yogi Andi conducts his yoga classes in various locations in Birmingham. True Fitness, located just off Wells Road, and Resorts World, next to the NEC, are two of the venues where he teaches. He also offers private one-on-one sessions, yoga therapy, mantra classes, and online satsang yoga classes. Yogi Andi's classes cater to all levels, from beginners to experienced practitioners.
