The Frankston & District Netball Association (FDNA) is a long-established, non-for-profit sports club in Melbourne, Australia. Since its establishment in 1966, the FDNA has been providing access to the sport of netball to the residents of Frankston and the surrounding areas. The club is dedicated to meeting the needs of netball players, coaches, umpires, administrators, and clubs, and strives to enhance participation experiences to encourage active involvement in the sport.
The FDNA offers various programmes and opportunities for individuals of all ages and skill levels. The club organises regular fixtures and competitions, allowing teams to participate and showcase their skills on the netball court. In addition, the FDNA provides pathways for aspiring athletes to reach elite levels of netball through its Frankston Representative teams and the Peninsula Waves VNL Netball Club. The Frankston Representative teams are selected from Saturday participants and compete against other associations throughout the season.
Successful representative teams have the opportunity to progress to Association Championships and be talent identified through the Netball Victoria pathway. On the other hand, the Peninsula Waves is a licenced VNL Netball Club that offers aspiring athletes the chance to play at an elite level in the State VNL competition.
The FDNA is also an active participant in the Two Bays region, representing Frankston along with other regional partner associations. The Two Bays region is represented at the State Titles annually, with Frankston players strongly represented in the team.
As a community-centred organisation, the FDNA focuses on the development and support of its members. The club provides resources and information on netball development, rules and regulations, and physiotherapy services. It also offers opportunities for community involvement, such as school holiday clinics, annual tournaments, and after-school competitions. The FDNA is committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment for everyone involved in the sport.
The FDNA is proud to be sponsored by various partners and actively seeks partnerships to support its programmes and initiatives. The club also encourages individuals to stay informed and connected by subscribing to its newsletter and following its social media accounts on Instagram, Facebook, and Vimeo.
Overall, the Frankston & District Netball Association is dedicated to promoting and developing the sport of netball in the local community. With its long history, commitment to excellence, and inclusive approach, the club continues to provide opportunities for individuals to participate in netball, from grassroots to elite levels.
