Judo is a modern martial art form which has evolved to become an Olympic sport. The most distinct feature of judo is in its competitive element where the objective is either to throw down or take down the opponent to the ground, immobilise them with a pin, or force them to submit with a joint lock or a choke. Strikes and thrusts, and defences, are a part of judo. There are 7 weight divisions and may be modified based on the age of the competitors.
