As one of the largest independent country rifle clubs in New South Wales, Nowra Rifle Club Inc. is dedicated to promoting the sport of target shooting and encouraging juniors and members in the safe use of firearms. The club offers 14 different long arm codes and 8 pistol codes on 6 shooting ranges within their complex. Competitions are scheduled to allow sufficient time for each code to conduct their matches, creating a friendly yet competitive environment.

Shooters can earn points throughout the year, which contribute to the club's Yearly Awards.

In addition to its focus on target shooting, Nowra Rifle Club Inc. is also an active training facility for various government agencies and private security firms. Organisations such as the Navy, NSW Police, Parks and Wildlife, Corrective Services, and private security firms utilise the club's facilities for training purposes. To cater to its high level of activity, the club has invested over $400,000 in upgrading its range and facilities.

Its commitment to ongoing facility upgrades ensures a modern and well-maintained shooting environment.

Visitors with a firearms licence have the opportunity to use the General Practise Range on Wednesday and Friday afternoons, as well as the last Saturday of each month. The range fee for adults is $30. 00, while juniors with a Junior Firearms Permit can use the range for free. Visitors are advised to bring the correct amount in cash as there are no card facilities at the range.
