About

The RMIT Outdoors Club (ROC) is a sports club located in Melbourne, Australia. Established in 2015, ROC is known as the greatest outdoors club around, offering a range of exciting outdoor activities for its members. From bushwalking and orienteering to caving, free diving, mountain biking, mountaineering, paddling, rock climbing, surfing, and snow sports, there is something for everyone at ROC.

For those who enjoy exploring the beauty of nature, bushwalking, and orienteering provide the perfect opportunity to walk through the bush and discover new trails. Caving allows members to explore wild caves and witness the stunning formations within a tight, dark, and sometimes wet environment.

If underwater adventures attract you, ROC offers free diving and snorkelling trips to explore the pristine oceans along the Victorian coast. For thrill-seekers, mountain biking is a popular sport that involves riding bicycles off-road over rough terrain.

Mountaineering is the ultimate outdoor skill, combining various skills into one incredible sport. Paddling allows members to challenge themselves and have fun learning on a kayak, with just the water and the kayak to rely on.

Rock climbing is another popular activity in ROC, where members can experience the thrill of climbing rock formations of various heights. Surfing, being an integral part of the Australian coastal culture, is also a prominent activity offered by ROC. Lastly, snow sports take members to explore the winter wonderland and enjoy various winter activities.

The club organises regular trips and upcoming trips include caving weekend, Feathertop NW Spur, Grampians Sport Climbing, The Long Walk 2, Weekend Macedon, and a Kayaking Leadership starter course.

Membership fees for ROC are $35 annually for current RMIT students and $30 for a single semester. An early bird offer allows members to sign up before Semester 1 Intro Night and receive a full year's membership for only $25. Annual memberships expire on December 31st, while semester memberships expire on June 30th or December 31st, depending on the semester.
