The Taoist Tai Chi Society of QLD is a sports club based in Perth, Australia. Dedicated to promoting the practise of Taoist Tai Chi, the club offers classes and training sessions for individuals of all ages and fitness levels. With a focus on strength, flexibility, and stillness, Taoist Tai Chi provides numerous benefits for both the body and mind.
Newcomers to Taoist Tai Chi are encouraged to attend an introductory session to learn more about the practise and what to expect. These sessions are held every Saturday at 9:30 am in Alexandria. Interested individuals can start anytime, and no previous experience is necessary.
The club is proud to be a part of the international Taoist Tai Chi Society, founded by Master Moy Lin Shin. In a video filmed in the late 1980s at the organisation's International Centre in Orangeville, Ontario, Master Moy demonstrates the set of 108 movements that form the core of Taoist Tai Chi practise.
Members of the club have shared personal stories of how Taoist Tai Chi has positively impacted their lives. One female member, in the age group of 70-79, credits tai chi with giving her back her independence and reducing the impact of her Parkinson's disease. Similarly, a male member in the age group of 40–59 attributes tai chi to improving his mobility and balance, leading to fewer visits to his neurologist.
The Taoist Tai Chi Society of QLD is part of a larger global network, including branches in Australia, New Zealand, and the United States. The club operates as a not-for-profit organisation and is registered as a charity. It is committed to promoting the practise of Taoist Tai Chi and helping individuals achieve resilience and balance in their lives.
For more information about the club, its sessions, and membership, individuals can visit the club's social media pages and club directories. The club welcomes individuals from all backgrounds and abilities to join them in experiencing the benefits of Taoist Tai Chi.
