Anna Lee has built the Anna Lee School of Dance into Christchurch's go-to spot for dance. With studios in Sawyers Arms Road, Papanui, as well as Halswell, Lincoln, and Ladbrooks, students from all over have a place to dance. They cover styles like Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, and Contemporary, plus Stretch, Conditioning, Fitness classes, and even preschool sessions. New for 2023, they’re adding Musical Theatre and Lyrical Dance to the mix.
Anna Lee’s school isn't just about dance steps; it’s about growth. Classes cater to everyone, from complete beginners to those aiming for advanced levels. The environment is fun and supportive, making it easy for students to enjoy their dance journey.
Throughout the year, students get to show off their skills in Medal Award performances, Examinations, and the End of Year Recital. The school teaches the Royal Academy Ballet (RAD) syllabus and the Asia Pacific Dance Association (APDA) syllabus for Jazz and Contemporary Ballet, with Medal Awards available through the New Zealand Association of Modern Dance (NZAMD). Private coaching is also available for those looking to compete or excel in exams.
Anna Lee's proven track record speaks volumes. Successful Exam, Medal, and Competition results are the norms. Many students move on to full-time dance training and careers, both in New Zealand and internationally. Some even participate in the New Zealand School of Dance's Associate Programme.
Regular dance lessons at the Anna Lee School of Dance offer more than just physical benefits. They boost confidence, improve concentration, and teach discipline and commitment. Dance also enhances musicality, artistry, posture, and coordination.
Anna Lee ensures a safe, supportive, and enjoyable environment for all students, with dedicated teachers and staff helping each dancer reach their potential. For more details on classes, timetables, and term dates, head to the Anna Lee School of Dance website or drop them an email.
