Bay Salsa @ La Mexica is a dance school and cocktail bar in Tauranga, New Zealand, organised by Emma and the team. Focusing on salsa, they offer classes and social dancing for beginners and seasoned dancers.

Emma ensures that learning to dance at Bay Salsa is straightforward with regular walk-in classes. Unlike traditional block courses, these sessions allow attendance at one's convenience, making it easier to learn at one's own pace. Classes in Linear style Salsa for beginners and improvers are held every Monday night in the basement of Nood, at the corner of Durham and Elizabeth Streets in Tauranga. Beginners start at 7:30 pm, and improvers follow at 8:30 pm.

In addition to classes, Emma and the Bay Salsa team host free weekly social dancing nights at La Mexica on the Strand. These events offer students a chance to show off their new skills, meet others, and enjoy the dance floor.

Founded in 2003, Bay Salsa is run by enthusiastic volunteers and dance lovers who cherish the social side of salsa. What started as a small group interested in salsa has grown into an essential part of Tauranga’s Latin Dancing scene, including the Bay Salsa Festival, New Zealand's second-largest Latin Dance Festival.
