Dedicated to providing children and young people with a supportive environment to learn and grow in dance, the academy aims to foster a love for dance while helping students build confidence and develop their technical skills.
The school offers a range of classes in tap and modern theatre dance. Students also have the opportunity to take exams and participate in various performances. The tap and modern classes take place at Emmanuel Church, situated on Greenfield Road in the charming Old Town area of Eastbourne. The location provides a perfect setting for dance lessons, with ample space and an inspiring atmosphere.
At the helm of Dance Makers Academy is Claire Tabraham, the Principal. Claire is a highly experienced and fully qualified dance teacher with the ISTD. She began her dance journey at a young age, studying RAD ballet, ISTD tap, and modern. Claire's passion lies in teaching children and watching them blossom in confidence as they work on their dance techniques.
Her teaching philosophy revolves around creating an encouraging and enjoyable environment for students to learn, progress, and shine in technique and performance.
Claire's own dance background includes a wealth of experience performing in and choreographing shows at prestigious venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, Docklands Arena, and Birmingham Indoor Arena. She has also conducted workshops for children and adults, provided dance training for figure skaters, and offered pre-audition coaching for West End performers. In addition, Claire founded Eastbourne Dance Space in 2015, a not-for-profit dance studio catering to adults of all ages and abilities.
Outside of her passion for dance, Claire enjoys singing in a local band. She strongly believes in the transformative power of dance and is eager to share its benefits with all her students. Claire welcomes inquiries about classes and would be delighted to assist anyone interested in enrolling.
