Defence Lab Kidz Birmingham West

Every year in Birmingham. We offer two specialised programmes: Super Sparks for children aged 4–7 years and Street Smart for children aged 8–13 years.

In our Super Sparks classes, children will learn the fundamentals of self-defence in a safe and fun environment. The classes are dynamic and exciting, designed to keep children engaged while teaching them essential skills to stay safe and build confidence. These classes are perfect for children of all abilities, and our instructors are trained to provide individual attention and support to each child.

For children aged 8–13 years, we offer Street Smart classes. These classes build on the foundations learned in Super Sparks and dive deeper into self-defence techniques and strategies. Students will learn practical and functional resolutions to street altercations, develop their physical and emotional self-defence skills, and build confidence in their abilities.

Our classes are held at the Martial Arts & Fitness Unit 2, 72 Hazelwell Street in Stirchley, Birmingham. We have flexible timings to accommodate various schedules. For Super Sparks, classes are held on Thursdays from 6:15-7:00pm, Fridays from 6:00-6:45pm, and Saturdays from 10:15-11:00am. For Street Smart, classes are held on Mondays from 5:30-6:30pm, Thursdays from 7:00-8:00pm, and Saturdays from 9:15-10:15am.

Defence Lab Kidz Birmingham West is part of the global network of self-defence and fitness training facilities called DEFENCE LAB. Our main focus is on the DNA Fight System, which is a programme designed to not only teach physical self-defence but also enhance emotional and psychological well-being. It is a highly effective system that has even been adopted by the UK Police Force.

At Defence Lab Birmingham, our goal is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn self-defence, build confidence, and develop essential life skills. We believe in active participation, dialogue, and fostering education and self-expression.
