Frances Hearnden Yoga is a serene and inviting yoga studio located in Newport, New Zealand. Owned and operated by Frances Hearnden, the studio offers a welcoming and inclusive space for individuals of all backgrounds and experience levels to explore the transformative practise of yoga.
Inspired by the rhythms of nature, Frances brings a unique approach to her teaching. She guides students in a flowing yoga practise that is supported by breath and embodied awareness. With almost three decades of personal practise and exploration, Frances feels deeply privileged to share her knowledge and passion for yoga with others.
Frances's yoga journey began in her adolescence when she stumbled upon a book in her parents' attic. This discovery sparked a love for meditation, yoga, singing, and inquiry, leading her to seek guidance from teachers in the UK, Europe, and India. Her extensive studies and personal experiences have shaped her teaching style, which is interwoven with insights from various traditions, including Buddhism and Celtic practises.
In addition to her yoga training, Frances has also pursued a Somatic Movement Education qualification, studying with the school of Body-mind centring. This course allows her to delve into the systems of the body through embodied movement, touch, and creativity. She is constantly fascinated by the intelligence and mystery of the body-mind connexion.
Frances's teaching philosophy emphasises gratitude, acceptance, and courage. She aims to create an atmosphere where each individual feels supported on their own unique path while being part of a community of seekers. Through her classes, online sessions, retreats, and writing, she shares her experience and insights, helping others uncover their own inner stillness and unity.
At Frances Hearnden Yoga, you have the opportunity to participate in live online yoga classes and guided meditations. These sessions can be accessed from the comfort of your own home or from anywhere in the world. The schedule includes a variety of options, such as Sunday Morning Yoga, Monday Evening Yoga, Tuesday Evening Gentle Yoga, Wednesday Evening Guided Meditation, and Friday Evening Yoga.
