Keenes Dance Studio, right in Worthing, West Sussex, has a bit of history to it. Karen, the organiser, wants everyone to know it’s been around since 1986 and has always been a family-run affair, passed down from mother to daughter. They’re all about delivering top-notch dance education for both adults and juniors.
Adults have plenty of options at Keenes, with classes like Absolute Beginners Ballroom and Latin for those just starting out. These sessions are relaxed and friendly, but Karen says the current class is packed. If you’re keen, you can get on the waiting list for the next round by giving the studio a bell.
And it’s not just group classes on offer. Private lessons are available too, whether you’re new to dancing or just looking to polish your technique. The instructors here are qualified and experienced, ready to help you hit your dance targets.
Social dances are another big thing at Keenes. These happen at Heene Community Centre and are a great chance to dance Ballroom, Latin, and Sequence styles. The vibe is social, inclusive, and there's even complimentary refreshments.
Juniors haven’t been forgotten either. Keenes runs classes designed to foster young talent, guided by IDTA qualified teachers. They’re taking on new students, and updates for the junior section are regularly posted on their dedicated Facebook page.
Karen’s keen on keeping everyone safe, especially given the ongoing COVID-19 situation. They’ve got sanitisers, paper towels, and regular cleaning in place. If you’re feeling under the weather or have been in contact with a COVID case, it's best to sit out the session for everyone's safety.

Yes, we have a new Absolute Beginner Line Dance Class starting on Tuesday 3rd March 2026 from 12 noon to 1.00pm. Please contact us for more details.
Our next Social Dance is on Saturday 6th June at the Studio from 7.30 to 10.00pm. You can enjoy Ballroom, Latin and Sequence dancing with complimentary refreshments, and it's open to all.
