Simon Robins, the organiser of The School of Tai Chi Chuan and Internal Arts in Worthing, extends an invitation to the sports community. The school is dedicated to the practice and study of tai chi, offering a selection of classes, workshops, and one-on-one sessions to suit all ages and skill levels.
Simon and Cher Robins, the instructors, aim to provide an environment where students can engage with tai chi at their own pace. Whether the goal is recreation, health improvement, or a deeper transformative practice, each student is supported on their individual journey.
With nearly 30 years of experience in tai chi, Simon originally turned to the art to improve his fitness and well-being. Over time, he found that tai chi also brought mental calmness, emotional stability, and personal wisdom. His diverse martial arts background, including Judo, Aikido, and Ju Jitsu, enriches his teaching.
Cher, who became an indoor student of Master Sam Masich in 2018, has a background marked by perseverance. Despite living with ME/CFS for 16 years, her passion for movement led her to yoga, qigong, and eventually tai chi. Cher's teaching is informed by her background as a secondary school teacher and her interest in the internal energies that make tai chi’s movements fluid and effortless.
The school provides a curriculum that caters to both beginners and those with previous experience. Classes and workshops cover various aspects, such as pushing hands, weapons, and internal body energies. For personalised instruction, one-on-one sessions are also available.
Simon encourages everyone to join The School of Tai Chi Chuan and Internal Arts in Worthing and begin a fulfilling journey with tai chi. More information and class sign-ups are available on their website.
