About

Matlock and Cromford Meadows Cricket Club, nestled in the towns of Matlock and Cromford in Derbyshire, is right on the edge of the Peak District National Park and the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage site. With a deep love for cricket, the club creates a warm and inclusive vibe for players of all ages and skills.

During the winter, Dan organises training sessions at Highfields Upper School Sports Hall. There's something for everyone—junior softball, girls and ladies training, plus junior and senior hardball sessions. It’s a great way to up your game and get ready for the season ahead.

Come 2024, the 1st XI will be playing in Division 3 N, the 2nd XI in Division 7 N, and the 3rd XI in Division 10 N. They’re also big on nurturing future talent, with U17 mid-week matches and Development Team games on weekends. Their Juniors section is buzzing too, with All Stars, Dynamos, and teams from U11 to U13.

A new highlight this season is the U12 girls team, which is a fantastic addition. They’ve also got a strong ladies team that trains and competes throughout the season.

Matlock and Cromford Meadows Cricket Club are always on the lookout for new players, coaches, or anyone who wants to lend a hand. If you’re keen to join or help out, get in touch through their contact page. If watching is more your thing, check out their fixtures on the calendar page or their Play Cricket Site. No matter how you get involved, you’ll find a friendly welcome at Causeway Lane or Cromford Meadows.

The club is super proud of their junior talent. In 2022, their U13 squad clinched the U13 Plate—proof of their hard work and skill.

They also celebrate their fantastic volunteers. In 2022, Ray Mullaney bagged an award for Outstanding Contribution in Coaching, and Cathy Harris won the Inspired to Play award at the Derbyshire Grassroots Cricket Volunteer Awards. These wins show the club’s dedication to growing the game and supporting their members.

If you’re thinking about joining, sponsoring, or just want to get in touch, visit their website. The club really appreciates the support from their sponsors, which helps them thrive.

Matlock and Cromford Meadows Cricket Club is a lively, welcoming place for anyone who loves cricket. Whether you’re playing, coaching, volunteering, or spectating, they’d love to have you be part of their cricketing community.
