Olinda Community Pool

The Olinda Community Pool is a picturesque swimming pool located in Olinda, Victoria. Nestled in a forest on a mountain, this pool offers a unique and tranquil experience for swimmers of all ages.

The pool is open for the 2023-2024 Summer Season and offers a range of exciting activities and events. Zumba classes and live music events are regularly held at the pool, providing a fun and energetic atmosphere for visitors. The opening hours of the pool vary depending on the school term and school holidays. During the school term, lap swimming and recreational swimming are available from Monday to Friday, with early morning hours for lap swimming. On weekends, the pool opens for recreational swimming. During school holidays, the pool extends its recreational swimming hours.

The pool is closed on public holidays, except for Boxing Day, New Year's Day, and Australia Day.

The Olinda Community Pool has a hot weather policy in place, whereby the pool will be closed if an Extreme or Catastrophic weather rating is declared for the central district by 5pm the day prior. The pool also has a cold weather policy, where it will close for the day if the Melbourne Metropolitan weather forecast at 5pm the day prior predicts a temperature of 21C or below. However, lap swimming will still be available in the mornings regardless of the weather.

Prices for entry to the pool are affordable, with various options available. Single entry prices range from $2 for spectators to $14 for a family pass (2 adults + 4 children). Season passes are also available at different prices, with early bird discounts available until 10th December.

Facilities at the Olinda Community Pool include a main pool, which is solar heated and measures 25m × 13m. The pool has a deep end where diving is allowed, as well as a shallow end for water play. There are also lap lanes available for those who prefer more structured swimming.

For younger swimmers, there is a solar heated toddler pool with a slide and splash zone. This area is perfect for little ones to splash around and play. The pool also has a kiosk, offering hot food, snacks, and drinks. There are ample change rooms with warm showers, including a unisex/family change room.

The pool is wheelchair accessible and provides a baby changing table.

The Olinda Community Pool is not just a swimming destination, but also a beautiful recreational space. Surrounded by shady trees and lush grass, the pool offers a pleasant garden setting. Visitors can enjoy a meal at the kiosk or make use of the free barbecue facilities. There are also plenty of tables and seats for relaxation, as well as drinking taps and bicycle parking.

The pool has implemented physical distancing measures and face mask requirements in the change rooms, and regular cleaning is carried out to ensure everyone's safety.
