Football leagues at Powerplay offer a mix of 5, 6, and 7-a-side formats, with the 5-a-side format being the most common. Unlimited substitutions are allowed, and each squad can have three extra members for a six-a-side team. Similarly, netball leagues are 7-a-side, with a maximum match night squad size of 10 and unlimited rolling substitutions.

The seasons at Powerplay usually last between 1. 5 to 3 months. At the end of each season, the division winners receive a trophy, and the top two teams are promoted while the bottom two are relegated. The next mini-season starts promptly the following week, ensuring a seamless continuation of gameplay.
