Welcome to the Wimborne Chess Club! Founded by Tony Buckfield in approximately 1978, the club is located at the Merley Social Club and holds meetings every Wednesday from 7:15 p. m. It is open to all age groups and abilities, providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for chess enthusiasts.
In addition to the regular Wednesday meetings, the club offers various other platforms for enjoying the game of chess. Members with more time on their hands can participate in meetings held on Friday mornings at the Kings Head Hotel in Wimborne from 10:00 a. m. onwards.
Optional lunch is often enjoyed during these meetings, and participants are encouraged to bring their own chess boards. There is also a Monday evening club at the same venue from 6:45 p. m. to 9:30 p.
