In addition to being an Accredited British Wheel of Yoga teacher and a Yoga Academy Faculty teacher, Jane holds the Yoga Alliance E-200 RYT and RYT500 hour certifications. She has also undergone Yoga Therapy Fundamentals Training and Workshops with Doug Keller, as well as studying with renowned instructors like Donna Farhi, Julie Gudmestad, and Roger Cole.
Throughout her teaching career, Jane has been influenced by the teachings of Gary Carter, a Scaravelli inspired yoga teacher. Carter's expertise in anatomy, physiology, and the fascial body has heavily influenced Jane's own practise and teaching style. She has also studied intensively under the guidance of Simon Low, Principal of The Yoga Academy, for over nine years. Using her knowledge and experience, Jane focuses on maintaining and rehabilitating the muscular skeletal system, re-educating neural pathways, and ensuring proper breath control.
She has a particular interest in safeguarding the health of the spine, having dealt with spinal problems from a young age.
Jane's personal journey with yoga has been transformative. Having practised for over 35 years, she has found good health, vitality, and regained mobility after several sporting injuries and a hip replacement. Her own experience has given her deep insight into the challenges faced by individuals with reduced strength and mobility, allowing her to provide a more inclusive and supportive approach to her teaching. With an extensive background in education, including specialising in sport, dance, and back care, Jane has an in-depth understanding of the impact of impaired breathing and postural habits on the body.
At Yoga Worthing, Jane offers individual maintenance and rehabilitative practises tailored to each student's specific needs. She aims to help individuals develop healthy posture, improve breathing, and regain mobility, both on and off the yoga mat. She continuously keeps up with the latest research and development in yoga to provide her students with the most effective and up-to-date teachings.
Yoga Worthing provides a welcoming and inclusive environment for individuals of all abilities to discover the power of yoga in promoting physical and mental well-being.
