
Olinda Cricket Club was formed in 1921 and began its playing days in the Mountain District Cricket Association's B Grade competition. Teams it opposed included Ferny Creek, Silvan and Mt. Dandenong. In its first season, captain Billy Ellis led the team to the semi-finals but were knocked out by A Grade side Gembrook.
In season 1922/23, only the clubs second year, Olinda captured the M. D. C. A B Section topship.
