Smithfield Athletics Centre

Smithfield Athletics Centre is a sports club located in Sydney, Australia. Their home ground is situated at Janice Crosio Oval, which is also known as Rosford Street Reserve in Smithfield, New South Wales. The club primarily focuses on Little Athletics, offering competitions and training sessions for boys and girls between the ages of 4 and 17.

The club hosts its Little Athletics competition on Friday evenings at 6:00pm. Participants have the opportunity to compete in a variety of track and field events, with the younger age groups also participating in fun games to develop their motor skills. It is recommended for athletes to arrive at least 15–20 minutes prior to the starting time of 6pm to ensure a timely start.

The season runs from September to March, with breaks during the September/October and Christmas school holidays. Registration includes the costs and insurance associated with Little Athletics NSW, approximately 20 weeks of Friday night competition (weather-permitting), entry into Zone, Region, and State Championships, and presentation awards for eligible athletes.

The club is run by a dedicated committee and club captains, ensuring smooth operation and organisation. Parent volunteers are always welcome and needed each week to help in various tasks such as running the canteen, selling raffle tickets, starting races, and timekeeping. At the end of the season, all eligible athletes receive an award at the club's Presentation Ceremony. This event follows the club's Constitution and Regulations.
