South Canberra Tuggeranong Athletics Club (SCT) is a dynamic sports club located in Canberra, Australia. The club is dedicated to promoting and facilitating the development of athletics in the local community. One of SCT's popular events is the Fadden Pines Schools' Cross Country, which takes place annually during autumn. This event provides an opportunity for kids to participate in distance running suitable for their age and fitness level. The runs are conducted every Sunday, starting from 30 April until 6 August. Distances ranging from 750m to 2500m are available, and the results are posted within 48 hours of each event.
Participants have the option to pay for the entire season or pay weekly, with discounted rates for families.
SCT also organises the Annual Turkey Run, a fun and festive event held at Fadden Pines. Participants can choose between a 1 km race for children and a 2. 33 km or 4. 66 km run on a looped course.
Prizes, including vouchers and a lucky draw, add to the excitement and engagement of this event.
To celebrate their achievements and recognise their members, SCT hosts an Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Awards Night. During this event, the club presents perpetual club pointscore awards for the track season. SCT encourages its members to participate in the club's committee or volunteer in various capacities, particularly in helping with communications through maintaining the website, social media platforms, and regular emails.
